In addressing this purpose, we do the following: We work within the State to protect Louisiana’s quality of life through the conservation of farm and forest land, the protection of natural and historic resources, the establishment of balanced transportation systems, the promotion of responsible economic development, the creation of affordable housing, and the advocacy of more livable communities. We seek to accomplish the aforementioned by promoting the adoption of laws related to proper land use management as well as to responsible growth management. We encourage regional cooperation in order to address the problems associated with unplanned suburban sprawl. We support programs and policies throughout the state which seek to restore and/or reinvigorate cities and towns.
