What do you want Louisiana to look like ten, twenty, fifty years from now????

It is estimated that Louisiana's population will grow by almost 750,000 people by the year 2025.

More people means more urban growth, more sprawl, more adverse impacts on the state's environment and resources. But such growth doesn't have to come at the expense of our environment or way of life.

Here at Smart Growth for Louisiana, we are working to find a balance between preserving our state's resources and encouraging responsible city planning and development. Unplanned and uncontrolled growth inflicts irreperable harms on our communities and our environment. Our goal is to find different, more accomodating means through which to achieve the end result of urban/suburban growth...means that incorporate economic, social, and environmental best interests.

The growth of our population and further development of our cities and towns have incredible implications for everyone.
